A popular fan diversion in
This one, based upon the
premise that most of the Cast is assembled as students or teachers at a
Japanese high school, focuses upon Sasha and her struggles to fit in amongst
her peers.
I recently purchased this one
from eBay and thought it was so cute that I’d like to share it with the
readership.
Inner
frontspiece-lovely art of Sasha in an Iscandarian gown!
Splash page-has
nothing to do with the rest of the story-at top, a funny vignette about Derek
Wildstar (Kodai Susumu), Mark Venture, (Shima Daisuke), Homer, (Aihara Giichi)
and Dash (Nanbu) trying to set up a tent on the beach while from left to right,
Sasha, Nova Forrester (Mori Yuki) and Starsha soak up some sun on the beach and
look cute.
The story proper
begins. The translation (what there is of it) is based on my rather bad
knowledge of Japanese. At top right, Sasha and Trelaina (Teresa) are talking
about a school project while (I think) Dash is trying to make it sound worse
than it is. Next page over, Homer, Venture, Jefferson Hardy (Yamamoto, with
very dreamy hair) and Wildstar are having a laugh about it whiel,
later, Sasha, Nova and Trelaina talk it over during lunch from bento boxes. Note
the cute school uniforms.
Talk over lunch
continues while Stephen Sandor (Sanada) shows up as a teacher at the lower
right. Later on, the girls, accompanied by Wendy Singleton (Aikiko) are in home
economics discussing another project.
Work continues
while for some reason, Princess Invidia (Sarbera) shows up and gives Sasha the
evil eye. Then she starts laughing at her! Boy, she’s cute but MEAN. She goes
on so long that she makes Sasha cry. Then, Prince Zordar (another teacher)
shows up and gives Invidia an F on the project! Then Invidia cries rivers! Too bad for our Princess today.
After her
humiliation in class, Nova tries to make Sasha feel better. She fails badly (I
think?) Sasha cries again. Awwww. Later on, after school, at home, Trelaina, Nova and
Starsha (Starsha is Sasha’s mother in this comic but is also in school with
her-go figure) talk on the phone while Sasha stays really depressed.
Later, next day
at school, more discussion gets interrupted by Derek Wildstar doing a 1000
meter dash while Nova remarks on his “energy” (I can read that). Later on, they
talk about Wildstar.
Nova compliments
Derek on his racing while I think he is saying, “I didn’t do much at all”. In
class next day, Sandor prepares for some tough assignment.
I think grades
may have come out (??). Sasha talks with her Mom in class and gets help. Later,
Alex Wildstar (Kodai Mamoru) another teacher, is saying something to Starsha
and Sasha about her performance in class (whilst Sasha is washing the dishes)
Later, Sasha is
grateful to Dad for something, but then he dismisses her. Then, always-helpful
Nova is telling Sasha that things seem to be working out.
Last pages; Dash keeps on falling to the floor about something
while Sandor is trying to keep order in class. The story ends here. I think it continues in the next issue?
The art on the
back cover-Nova and Trelaina look at the beach. Very cute.
I like the way this artist draws the females.
