The Legend of Grand Mechapolis is yet again another work of Star Blazers fan fiction that I have had in my head for a few years, but it's not just Star Blazers/Yamato; it also includes elements from Captain Harlock and Galaxy Express 999.
This is another sequel to The Entropy Wars and, here after a hard-won peace, Lord Ekogaru the Great is dead and his works are now believed reduced to dust since his Kingdom and would-be successor Queen Promethium were totally defeated at the end of the Entropy Wars of 2231. Earth has a new Government in concert with Pellias.
But, are Ekogaru's works destroyed forever?
Deep in space, Queen Promethium has survived, and she is rebuilding what remains of Ekogaru's Technomugar Empire into an even worse Empire dedicated to the growth of the Eternal Machine; the Mechanoid Empire.
The war against Promethium begins when the peace of the new Dual Monarchy of the Terran/Pellian Commonwealth is rocked by assassinations, along with the Gamilon Empire and Iscandar.
A two-pronged war begins, with the open conflict led by Lord Admiral Derek Wildstar/Susumu Kodai and his spouse, High Queen Nova Wildstar/Empress Yuki Kodai, who, with extended lives and youth due to the miracles at the end of the Entropy Wars, will fight on both planet-side and aboard the Space Battleship Yamato, as well as offering aid and counsel to an underground resistance led by Princess Maetel, the mysterious daughter of Promethium, along with two freedom fighters who are feared by many as Space Pirates. These Pirates are the legendary Captains Harlock and Emeraldas, the Commanders of the Arcadia and Queen Emeraldas.
Can Earth's New Age endure as Promethium's agents create chaos, fear, and treason across the Galaxy, and can the grieving and bereaved Gamilon Emperor Desslok remain sane and find new love in the midst of chaos and war?

UPDATE: A Split in Continuities.
NOW: There will be both PG and R versions of the timelines.
Why? Well, a lot of people read these stories. Some (who are assisting me) want a more edgy, tougher, and in some ways, more tragic version of the story; the one in some ways closest to my original concept. Others (who are also assisting me [ahem]) prefer a more traditional and optimistic version of the storyline.
To satisfy everyone and the two split sides of my personality and tastes over this, I decided to split this story into TWO different continuities. There is Yamato precedent for this (Farewell to Yamato/Yamato 2, and two different cuts of Yamato: Resurrection). The R Rated version thus has more in the way of violence and explicit scenes and it in fact forms a Separate Continuity (The Poike Nebula Edition) after the events of Chapter 17. The R Rated chapters can be skipped over by those who don't desire to read certain graphic scenes. This one will be like the Farewell to Yamato edition. To warn everyone in advance, it has a more tragic feel to it and a more tragic ending). This version will post here and on the Archive of Our Own fanfiction site (where edgier Yamato stories seem to be making a home)
The PG version Continuity (The Eternal Gamilon Edition) itself is a Separate Continuity after the events of Chapter 17. It will feel a lot more like Yamato 2-lighter, less explicit, some characters have different fates, and the ending is much more optimistic. This version will post here and on FanFiction.net
